Congratulations to Sophomore Olivia Mercado — Our Suns Athlete of the Week!

Sophomore guard Olivia Mercado lit up the scoreboard in the Suns’ season opener, dropping 27 points in a dominant 77–27 win over Shadle Park.

A second-year starter, Olivia has quickly become one of the Suns’ breakout offensive players. What stood out most in this game, however, was her defensive intensity and commitment to rebounding. Along with her 27 points, she tallied 3 assists, 3 steals, and 8 rebounds, showcasing her all-around impact on the floor.

Off the court, Olivia continues to shine academically with a 3.8 current GPA and a 3.75 cumulative GPA.

She shared that one of her favorite parts of basketball is getting to play alongside her sister, Joan.
